Parents of learners at Centaurus Secondary School are up in arms over the alleged appalling state and condition of toilets at the school that may pose a health hazard to the school community.
In an unsigned letter to New Era, ‘concerned parents’ raised the issue.
“Strong offensive smells from the toilets are so disturbing when one approaches the school. The situation has been like this for the past three weeks and nothing has been done to rectify it. The principal displayed a very careless attitude when approached about the issue,” the letter of complaint said.
On inquiry the principal of Centaurus, Wouter Treurnicht, refused to comment on the grounds: “I don’t comment on allegations made by parents, who do not take matters up through my office.”
