The first Standard Bank Top Taxi winner of the recently launched competition, saw Martin Nakathila driving off with a N$3 000 cash prize after he was announced the number one contender last week.
Standard Bank’s Public Relations and Communications Manager Surihe Gaomas-Guchu said at the prize winning, “This competition is as a worthy cause because it is instilling road safety awareness amongst Taxi drivers in order to reduce road accidents and ultimately save lives.
“Taxi drivers have an important role to play in our community, which is why as a bank we saw the need to get involved, and are proud to be part of Top Taxi competition, ” said Gaomas-Guchu, adding that the project will be running for nine months.
Standard Bank Namibia has said that it is proud to be associated with the Top Taxi Project, which has been sponsored to an amount of over N$133 000 , combined with other partners such as Namibia Medical Care, Shoprite, Windhoek City Police and the media.
