The top trending clip is of an entourage of bikers who drove around the city, visiting hospitals to show massive love and appreciation to healthcare workers for their bravery and hard work serving patients during this Covid-19 pandemic.
The group of bikers from different clubs were seen singing worship songs like Hillsong’s ‘I Surrender’ at the Rhino Park Hospital, Medi Clinic and Lady Pohamba, where two healthcare workers photographed hugging while the group was singing.
With the hashtag #NamibiaStrong, Ciske Howard shared the image and the importance of rallying behind healthcare workers, wishing them well since they are at the forefront of dealing with the effect of Covid-19 every day by taking care of patients.
“With the picture of the two nurses hugging, I want to thank the biker community who went out and gave hope and light at the end of the tunnel for our healthcare workers,” she said in a video on her Facebook account.
Howard said it is important to let the healthcare workers know how the masses feel about them, that they are appreciated as they work day and night around the clock.
“They see the worst of the worst. People coming into hospitals and never leaving. They see families breaking up as a result of death, and they are the ones who deliver that news. Let’s make sure they know we appreciate them,” expressed Howard.
Continuing with the hashtag was Ian Daniel from Teambuild Namibia, who said the country is going through the worst right now, with people living in tremendous fear, anger and the constant change happening in the world.
“All we can do is stand together, give everyone our support, a smile or a word of comfort to someone who has lost a loved one. We cannot bring anyone back, but we can help the ones who are left behind,” shared Daniel.
