Top Namibian performer Top Cheri was recently confirmed as one of the acts at the 11th Vic Falls Carnival in Zimbabwe scheduled for 28 to 30 April.

Performing for the first time in Zimbabwe, TopCheri, real name Monica Pineas, is set to delight the audience with her unique blend of Afro-Pop, Dancehall, Rap, Pop and Gospel flair.

The energetic 31-year-old said the Vic Falls Carnival caught her off guard, but when she got an invitation, she was thrilled and proud of herself for the work she puts into the music industry.

“Like this is my second time to perform outside Namibia (first time in Germany last year), and me representing my country in Zimbabwe means a lot and I am going to rock the stage as usual,” she told VIBEZ!

TopCheri further said this event will be epic.

“I really want to go all out in terms of my vocals, the lighting and everything. I want everything to be perfect because I’m representing the entire nation,” she said.

The Walvis Bay-born TopCheri has been raking in several awards over the past few years such as Album of the Year, Best Newcomer, Best Colaboration and Best Female Artist.

Last year, she organised the first-ever Kiddies Concert which she arranged solely to give young ones a stage and audience to exhibit their artistic abilities. It was a huge success.

The singer, dancer, writer, actress and journalist has collaborated with several of her Namibian peers in music and is yet to team up with other African artists.

“We are already in contact with the artists I will be collaborating with and I will not collaborate with Zimbabwe artists only, but with other African artists.”

Watch her socials for the announcements.

TopCheri, who derived her name from being “on top of her game” said Namibians should be ready for her as she is bringing the best music and history will be made.

“This event will be one of those events I will be able to look back at and say ‘yes, I did this’”.
