Tracey, an  IUM student is Miss Outapi

WINDHOEK- A 22-year-old Business Administration student at the International University of Management (IUM), Ndahekelekwa ‘Tracey’ Kayofa is this year’s Miss Outapi. 

She was crowned at a glittery event at the Outapi Mini Lounge in the Omusati Region last Friday, pipping other 17 finalists to emerge Miss Outapi. She took home N$10,000; a cellphone; DSTV decoder; free online driver’s licence lessons; clothing voucher; accommodation voucher at the lounge; wellness Spa voucher and many other goodies. Delighted, Tracey says she is honoured to have won the title and will continue to do her best to reach the top in her modeling career.  

The first princess is Sherlyn Johannes and Liina Shigwedha is the second princess. Tracey and her princesses will embark on a one year project with HIV/AIDS activist, Immanuel Sheefeni. Other winners included the most hardworking finalist, Julia Nelly Frans, who is doing fashion, design at the College of the Arts (COTA). Suama Nuunyango, an accounting student at the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST), is Miss Photogenic. 

Miss Outapi beauty pageant has become one of the fastest growing social gatherings in northern Namibia, celebrating culture in the Omusati Region. It has also been promoting socio-economic inclusion and development in the area. Top artists in the country such as Gazza, Tequila and Exit performed at the event.
