Traffic deviation on Windhoek to airport road in effect

Traffic deviation on Windhoek to airport road in effect

The Roads Authority (RA) has informed the public about a new temporary traffic deviation on the Windhoek-Hosea Kutako International Airport Road upgrade project as of today.

The affected area starts at three kilometres (km) east of the current temporary airport turnoff, and 0.4km west of the M51 road turnoff.

The deviation will channel traffic around the construction site, and will be in effect until July 2025.

Road signs have been installed to guide motorists through the temporary routes. Thus, travellers are advised to allow for an extra five minutes of travel time when planning their trips along this route to avoid delays.

Lastly, motorists are advised to adhere to the speed limits, and exercise caution when travelling in the construction area.

The RA has expressed gratitude to all motorists for their patience and cooperation during this period.
