Tunisian musician, Dhafer Youssef and his band will stage a concert at the Warehouse Theatre at 21h00 on Tuesday hosted by FNCC.
Dhafer, a vocalist, has been one of the most important Arabic crossover artists in Europe since he arrived in Austria in 1989. He has established a reputation for a visionary fusion between Eastern and Western music, bringing the evocative sounds of sufi together with the atmospheric electronics of Nordic jazz.
Last year Dhafer released his fourth album – Divine Shadows. Continuing the evolution from his first, Malak, Divine Shadows features his regular band (Eivind Aarset, Audun Erlien and Rune Arneson) and the distinctive Arabic/Norwegian sound world synonymous with that group. He also introduces a new sound world – a more acoustic one – which highlights his extraordinary voice.
