By Kuvee Kangueehi WINDHOEK The destiny of the MTC Namibia Premier League could be decided tomorrow afternoon when the log leaders Civics lock horns with arch-rivals Ramblers who are currently slotted at number two. The MTC Premier League defending champions Civics are currently topping the log with forty points, two points ahead of Ramblers after seventeen games. Thus a victory for either side on Saturday will be a major boost. With five games left before the end of the season, the title race is now definitely a two-horse one and Blue Waters who are seven points behind second-placed Ramblers can definitely not catch the two leading the pack. Besides the crucial three points that are at stake and a possible league title, a game between Civics and Ramblers has never failed to entertain. Matches between the two are characterised by mini battles on the pitch and tomorrow’s game will definitely not be an exception. Ramblers and Brave Warriors defender Michael Pienaar will surely have a busy day trying to keep out Civics goal poacher William Chilufya. The Ramblers defence will also be required to cope with the threat of their former striker Costa Kheiseb who is expected to make his debut for Civics tomorrow after an unsuccessful spell in South Africa. The former Brave Warriors striker can be deadly with his lightning speed and the deadly right foot. Ramblers themselves can count on the performances of Samson John who is still to discover the form which made him a hot property at Black Africa last season. Meanwhile, Black Africa and African Stars travel this weekend to the coast to entertain Blue Waters and Eleven Arrows over the weekend. Black Africa, who are currently occupying number four on the log standings, seven points behind Blue Waters, will take on Eleven Arrows on Saturday before they battle it out with Blue Waters on Sunday, while African Stars will first entertain Blue Waters on Saturday and then Eleven Arrows on Sunday. Oshakati City, who were ousted by Cymot SKW from the MTC NFA Cup semi-final, will have a chance to revenge their painful defeat on Saturday. Although the match is of little significance to Oshakati City it is very crucial to SKW who are bottom of the log. SKW need to start collecting points tomorrow against City if they are to make any attempt to avoid the drop. The MTC NFA Cup finalists have only managed to win twice in the premier league the entire season after seventeen matches. Another MTC NFA Cup finalist Orlando Pirates will lock horns with Chief Santos at the Independence Stadium tomorrow and will face Oshakati City on Sunday. Pirates are boosting with confidence and must be aiming at collecting maximum points to push themselves further up the log. On Sunday the SKW Stadium will host the two teams at the bottom of the log, namely, SKW and Chief Santos. The two teams are likely to exit the premier league at the end of the season unless they improve drastically.
