The Oshakati High Court has sentenced a 31-year-old man to two life terms and 25 years imprisonment for four horrendous crimes he committed four years ago.
Thomas Menas Ifenya (31), killed two boys and seriously injured his grandmother on 15 February 2019. The incident took place at Okafitu Kakatanyange village in Outapi constituency of the Omusati region.
Yesterday, judge Eduard Kesslau ordered a life sentence for each of the two murders; 15 years for rape; and 10 years for housebreaking and assault.
Ifenya killed his two relatives, seven-year-old Malakia Ndapuka and 10-year-old Linus Ndapuka in cold blood. He then assaulted and raped his then 78-year-old grandmother.
The elderly woman and her grandson were sleeping when Ifenya broke into their bedroom and attacked them.
He was arrested the same day, and charged with two counts of murder, one of housebreaking, and one count of rape.
