Ubuntu Medical has donated first aid kits worth N$ 15 000 to the Windhoek High School (WHS) hockey teams in the capital recently.

First aid kits in sports provide immediate medical care for injuries that may occur during activities.

Acknowledging the donation, Juanita Birch, WHS’ public relations and project manager, told New Era Sports that the generous support from Ubuntu will enhance the confidence and well-being of the athletes, and will also allow them to focus on their performance.

“With the provision of first aid kits, our hockey teams now have essential medical supplies readily available, ensuring a safer and more secure environment during practices and matches,” she said.

She added that the sponsorship will foster a sense of community and support within their school, highlighting the importance of health and safety in sports.

She asserted that the donation will have a significant contribution to the overall development and success of the learners on and off the field.

“You have touched the lives of our WHS learners. We value and honour your donation.

Thanks for your support, investing in our Blue School, and believing in our learners,” she beamed.

Ubuntu Medical co-owner Phillip Kühn said the name Ubuntu defines humanity and kindness to others – and that speaks for itself.

“We firmly believe in sharing, and it is an honour to be part of the growth of our young sportsmen and women,” he said.

He added that having a well-stocked first aid kit on hand ensures that minor injuries can be treated promptly, potentially preventing more serious complications, and allowing athletes to return to their activities quicker.
