Windhoek

Unam Jaguars clinched the highly competitive Central Zone Division One coveted league title after twelve rounds of matches in the seven-team league played over two legs.

The students recorded nine wins, one draw and two defeats to close the season on 19 points, one point ahead of second placed Black Africa. The title race was tightly contested with African Stars finishing adrift in third place – two points off the pace on 17 point.

Perennial powerhouses, Wanderers, United and Tigers followed in that order with league newcomers Vixens having to be satisfied with the wooden spoon after failing to manufacture a single win during their campaign.

The White Mares atoned for their lukewarm showing in the topflight league as they won the second division title hands down by a massive 26 points having won all their 13 matches to finish four points ahead of bitter rivals United with Vixens tailing in 3rd spot on 19 points.

Wanderers’ third strings returned the compliment to their seniors when they won the third division league title collecting maximum points from the their ten matches.
