WINDHOEK

The fourth edition of the Spanish-American and Namibian Culture Quiz, “How much do you know?” took place at the Residence of the Spanish Embassy on Friday.

The event, hosted by Spanish Ambassador Concepción Figuerola, saw 41 students from the University of Namibia (Unam) and the Polytechnic of Namibia participating together with members of the Spanish and Spanish-American community residing in Namibia.

The objective of the quiz was to playfully and creatively share knowledge
about languages and cultures.

In Windhoek Spanish courses are offered as a curricular and extra-curricular subject at Unam and the Poly. At Unam, Spanish has been taught since 1995 and as a curricular subject since 2002.

Over the years Unam has had seven Spanish lecturers, who have taught Spanish to 240 (curricular) students and there are currently 40 Spanish students at Unam.
