Unam Stadium to host crucial WSL clashes

The Unam Stadium will stage two exciting fixtures this weekend in the FNB Women’s Super League, as teams battle it out in outstanding round eight and nine matches.

Unam Bokkies, Desert Foxes FC and Arrows Ladies FC are all set for action in what promises to be a decisive weekend in the race for points.

Unam head coach Thuba Sibanda says her side is eager to return to winning ways after a short break.

“We are back in training after taking a needed break and attending to injuries and everything in between. We have used these two weeks to play friendlies, address our gaps, and prepare for the second leg as well. The plan is to go out strong, give our best and hopefully get back to winning ways,” she said.

Desert Foxes head coach Salmon Nakale, affectionately known as “Coach Eto”, said his team is equally focused despite injury setbacks.

“There is not really a lot to say other than preparing equally as they are preparing for the weekend matches against us. We still have a list of injured players, yes, but we will use those players at our disposal indeed,” he said.

The weekend programme will see Unam Bokkies take on Desert Foxes FC on Saturday at 16h00, followed by Sunday’s encounter between Arrows Ladies FC and Desert Foxes FC at 11h00.
