Several rape incidents were reported over the weekend, including the shocking violation of a two-year-old girl reportedly being the victim of her uncle.
According to the weekend crime report, a 21 years old man was arrested for raping a two-year-old girl at Oniimwandi – Onayena village.
It’s alleged that the suspect had sexual intercourse with an infant under coercive circumstances in the bush in the fenced yard of their house.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court this week.
On Friday, a 22-year-old man raped his four-year-old niece at Kokoro village in Kavango West.
The crime report alleged that the suspect picked up the victim, took her into his hut, and forcefully committed sexual intercourse for the entire night until the following morning. The suspect is a cousin of the victim’s mother.
The man was arrested the next day after he evaded arrest for a day.
The police in Kavango West are investigating a case of alleged rape of a nine-year-old girl by a 53-year-old man who occasionally defiled her in Kavango West.
According to information shared by the police, the suspect, who is now on the run, is married to the victim’s grandmother but he is not their biological grandfather.
“During an unknown date and on 12 September 2022, a 53-year-old Namibian male repeatedly raped a nine-year-old Namibian female (minor) at Same village. It was reported that the suspect on several occasion allegedly entered into the hut in which the victim sleep and forcefully conduct sexual intercourse without her consent,” said Kavango West regional police commander, Julia Sakuwa-Neo who confirmed the case to New Era.
“The suspect is yet to be arrested as he fled the scene after information leaked,’’ she said.
At Mariental, on Monday, at an unknown time, a 14-year-old girl was raped by an adult male at a New Location.
“It’s alleged that the victim was at home with someone and instructed by a lady to share a bed with the suspect due to limited sleeping room in the house. The suspect removed the tights of the victim as well as her panty and insert his finger into the victim’s private part without her consent. The lady who instructed the victim brought her boyfriend and her boyfriend arrived with a friend, an adult male who is the alleged suspect in the case. The suspect fled to Windhoek and is known,” the weekend crime report indicated.
At Katutura on Friday, at about 23h00, a 17-year-old girl was raped in Dolam.
It’s alleged that the suspect pushed the complainant into his room, threatened to kill her and had sexual intercourse with the complainant by force. He is known and is yet to be arrested.
At Katima Mulilo on Thursday at Katongo village, Linyanti area, Zambezi region, a 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by an adult Namibian male.
“The victim, while on her way from afternoon studies, was followed by a man known to her, then the man entered the hut where the victim and her friend ran to, opened the door and chased the victim’s friends away and he forced sex with the victim. The suspect is yet to be arrested,” said the report.
