Uncommon sense – We are just pawns in the game

Uncommon sense – We are just pawns in the game

In this superficially sophisticated world, it is easier to be caught up in the web that will eventually control your entire life and its experience. It is not necessarily that it is the way it should be, but mostly just because of your geographical, cultural or even religious positioning you end up being caught in the web.

However, what ultimately matters is whether you have come to the realisation that you are just one decision away from living a completely different life.

Life is superficially sophisticated but naturally simple. It is the insatiable human greed and ego that keep us restlessly chasing our tail, which, at some point can even lead to self-destruction. Sometimes, those who aspire for a peaceful world naively go about thinking everyone shares the same aspirations.

This is without realising that for every force of light, there is an equal or even more force of darkness. Sadly, it also happens that the dark forces sleeplessly and cleverly devise cunning ways to mimic the good side, thereby deceptively misleading the masses.

It may be weird to say, but in such a deceptive world where the road to hell is paved with good intentions, one may need a third eye open at night while the other two are closed.

It may require that we question everything instead of just blindly adhering to the traditional way of thinking and doing things. We may need to reconsider and rethink everything, including things that are related to our health and wellbeing.

This is because, in a highly deceptive world where profits come before people, a person who lucratively benefits from a crisis is most likely to create more of them. When it becomes more profitable to manage a problem than to permanently eradicate it, even a health crisis can become a business opportunity.

We are just pieces on the chessboard, and the sooner we acknowledge this, the better. What we call life and believe that we have some sort of control, is nothing but a scripted experience.

We can act out, glamourise, and glorify it as we may wish but the everyday constant underlying dissatisfaction shall remain a reminder that something is fundamentally amiss. Even if we are made to feel that we have a choice of careers, spouses, and even how successful we can be, all these choices have already been chosen for us. All these points to is the fact that the world is a stage and we are all actors. Even if we may feel we are better or worse off than others, it all happens within the invisible man-made parameters and boundaries.  It is even sadder that most of what guides socially is unwritten and does not even exist, except in our imaginations.

On top of that, it is nothing more than our beliefs and stories we tell ourselves that determine the way we carry ourselves and interact with others. So, simply foregoing a belief, especially a limiting one, can wonderfully transform one’s life.

This may even make one realise that all the external search to fill the void could have simply been achieved by looking within.

Yes, we are just pawns in the game, but acknowledging it does not mean we must change the game, because that is naturally impossible. However, our goal should be to position ourselves in such a way that we act our part wisely and to our benefit. For we know that, just as everything else, our time and experience here are temporary.
