Brave Warriors striker Sadney Urikhob continues to dominate headlines in the Thai premiership with his incredible goal-scoring prowess, explosive acceleration and overall talismanic facade.
The Namibian youngster on Saturday inspired Thai club Saraburi to a 1-0 victory over Suphanburi, after an individual effort that saw him prey on a dipping pass from the centre-line and quickly beat two defenders before placing the ball straight into the net with a thundering shot.
Saturday’s goal was Urikhob’s second for Saraburi in a few breathtaking appearances for the Thai premier league side.
Urikhob, who has over the years emerged as one of the most exciting talents in Namibian football, has been widely hailed as the new hot property in the Toyota Thai Premiership, all thanks to his ability to go straight at defenders, beating them with speed and great ball control.
Meanwhile, still in Thailand, former Black Africa stylish midfielder Awilo Stephanus yesterday helped club Krabi cruise to a 2-1 victory over Trat, with the Namibian international scoring the opening goal of the match. Krabi is a Thai first division club.
Stephanus, who plays for Krabi with compatriot Tangeni Shipahu who joined from Army United, scored the opener in the 77th minute before teammate Laby Kassiaty added another goal in the 87th minute to take a convincing 2-0 lead. But Trat kept pushing and were finally rewarded in the last few minutes of the game, when Borche Manevski found the back of the net to finish the match 2-1.
The Brave Warriors midfield ace is on a 6-month loan from Black Africa, while Shipahu is originally an Osotspa Saraburi player, but was at the beginning of the Thai premiership season loaned out to Army United, where he made close to 12 appearances before being loaned to Krabi FC, where he was reunited with Stephanus.
Shipahu formerly played for Tigers in the Namibian premiership before joining now-relegated South African outfit Amazulu, where he enjoyed much success. He then moved to Thailand in 2012, joining Osotspa Saraburi.
