Two-time RnB Namibian Annual Music Awards (NAMAs) winner, Floritha and Best Kizomba artist of the year, Blossom are going to perform in the United States of America (USA) next month.
The duo will perform alongside Antonio from Argentine at the Sandovans restaurant and lounge in Washington DC on 12 July. Namibian born Maurits Goasiseb, now residing in Washington DC, who is the organizer of the event described the show as the birth of a new working relationship between Namibia and the USA. “Now music lovers will meet Namibians. Blossom and Floritha can also use the opportunity to market their music and met new people in the music industry. In future when I have gigs i will definitely invite more Namibians,” Goasiseb said.
“I met Blossom last year when she was performing in Washington DC with Mushe and Dixon. I got to know Floritha through her brother who I met in America. He showed me her music and it immediately caught my eye. Since then I wanted to meet her and see her perform,” said Goasiseb cheerfully.
Floritha refers to the opportunity as one of her dreams that has become true. “I am always interested to know more about music, knowing about the music industry in the USA will wonderful. They have an amazing industry. There is a huge market and very talented stars. I am sure that i will learn a lot that i can put into my career. I cannot wait,” Floritha said.
Floritha said in the USA she will show her music off, meet with artists and visit several recording studios. “I will surely have fun,” she said joyfully.
Blossom, who will be going to Washington DC again, refers to the trip as a second change. “Not everybody gets a second change to do one thing. I know that I am lucky. Now I can go back and do the things I did not have time for the last time when I was there. After the show I will stay in the USA for one month,” Blossom said.
