WINDHOEK- A red carpet and the treatment that goes along with it, a photo shoot, an open bar as well as big-event artists in the persons of The Dogg, Gazza, Exit, and to crown it all big occasion Oviritje and African Pop entertainers, namely Ongoro Nomundu, Muatjangitjike Ben Muundjua, Rax Kandjoze, The Wire, Wilddogs, Tjinaa, Tjonga, Karapo and One Blood is awaiting revellers and heartthrobs during the third 5544 Valentines Bash next Saturday at the Katutura Community Hall.
The event which has now become an annual one also has been geared up this year and willk coincided with a fashion show of traditional women gear ala the Otjiherero dress by top designers of note like McBright Kavari, Nancy Turika, Mbeumuna Murangi, Nandu Kambungu and Samatha Kaetjavi, all regular participating designers in the annual Legendary Dress Designers Competition.
Also billed an evening of
Oviritje vs Kwaito, that has been taking place under the auspices of the 5544 record label, which is the label of the The Wire music group, promises to be a classic one as per the chief organiser, Urioukuao Kahorere, aka DJ Zuvasana, who is the owner of the 5544 record label. “It’s a classic event come and have fun everyone is invited,” he entices the public.
“We wanted to spice up our event so that we do not have the same event like last year. That is why we say bigger and better all the time every year as we add an extra push to what we had we had last year. So we came up with the Ovaherero dress design in red and white colour themes,” he amplifies the attraction of the event this year. He further explains that in 2012 with its inauguration the event had Gazza as a top guest artists and in the subsequent year, that is 2013 The Dogg and since the two have now reconciled they have decided to feature both. “It is something to look out for,” Kahorere lures the public to the bash. “We decided on Valentine as the overall theme of the event but it does not that it is meant for lovers only although they are our target but it’s an event open for everyone. Dress to kill and come walking on the red carpet and get nice photo shoots and get entertained by top artists. Why not?”
VIPs for whom tickets are N$120 apiece in advance and N$150 at the doors, are assured of complimentary drinks and proper sitting with better view and proper sound system. Safe parking inside the hall’s parking is also guaranteed for the VIP while the outside parking is also assured of tight security with close to 20 security quards who will be stationed around it with the Windhoek City Police and the Namibian Police also been approached to provide the necessary security.
