Four Namibian creatives are currently showcasing their works at the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF) in Cairo, Egypt.

They are director and filmmaker Othilia Tutu Mungoba; Jeandre Groenewald who is doing 3D printing, computer-aided design and a web developer; Rosali Neshuku, a textile and bags manufacturer; and Frieda Popyeni Amadhila, a gemstone jeweler derive as the winners of the Fabrica Namibia’s Make-A-Thon.  

In addition to exhibiting their products, the group will attend an ensemble of master classes and presentations on entrepreneurial development to creative digital innovations at Creative Africa Nexus – the creative industry supportive wing of IATF.

 

They are exhibiting the works at the UNDP Accelerator Lab pavilion. 

In a steadfast commitment to nurturing micro, small, and medium enterprises and business associations, the UNDP Accelerator Lab is dedicated to empowering businesses through a multifaceted approach—capacity-building workshops, cross-regional dialogues, and the provision of technical assistance. This holistic strategy lays the foundation for sustainable growth and innovation, steering businesses towards success in the evolving African market.

“This curated opportunity celebrates the vibrant artistic tapestry of Africa but positions these creative endeavours as potent economic propellers,” Omagano Kankondi, head of solutions mapping UNDP Accelerator Lab reiterated. 

The fair commenced on Thursday and will conclude on Friday. It celebrates entrepreneurship and collaboration and promises to be a transformative force in shaping the future of African business.

The IATF stands tall as a beacon of economic collaboration, championing the principles of the African Continental Free Trade Area. 

As the singular Pan-African B2B cross-sector trade fair, IATF serves as an unrivaled nexus, inviting African buyers and sellers to converge and unlock the boundless potential of intra-African trade.

IATF underscores the undeniable impact of the creative industry as a catalyst for economic growth it’s potential in paving the way for local talents to shine on a global stage. Upon return, the delegation is expected to utilise their made connections in building their individual brands and serve as baselines for the fraternity.
