Home Front Page News Viper ‘Bike ‘n Rock’ bash this week-end

The Viper Rock ‘n Bike Rally being held this week-end at Umti Lodge, is expecting  bikes of all makes and models to turn up in their droves  for the Friday and Saturday bash. The event is open to all bike clubs around the country and promises some rip roaring activities with biker games galore. This is the second year organiser Andre Smit has put this together a biking event that combines music for the biker who enjoys live rock ‘n roll.  A line-up of musicians are expected to play over the two days, which includes Namibian born musician Riaan Smit now living in Cape Town, who has just returned from a USA tour with his side kick  saxophonist Nick Becker. They will be joined on stage by well-known  coastal band Brown Paper Bag as well as other individual artists.  A swimming pool, bar facilities, food stalls biker games  and banter all ensures a week-end of fun in the sun. Gates open at 13h00 on Friday, and ends with a church service on Sunday.  (Photo Donna Collins)
