Volleyball leagues gets N$460 000 boost

Volleyball leagues gets N$460 000 boost

In support of local sports, Bank Windhoek has injected N$460 000 into the Namibia Volleyball Federation (NVF).

Marking over a decade of partnership between the two entities, the sponsorship will strengthen grassroots development and lay the foundation for a stronger national volleyball team.

NVF vice president Liina Mattheus stressed the importance of nurturing young talent through consistent development.

“Without development, we would not have a national team to send out to represent Namibia,” she said.  The funding is expected to support, enhance training programmes, better access to facilities and increase opportunities for youth participation in the sport.

She said Bank Windhoek’s sponsorship of N$460 000 is a clear demonstration of its commitment to developing volleyball at the grassroots level.  NVF expects the funding to enhance youth programmes and build a strong foundation for future national team success.  “The bank’s support highlights its role in promoting local sports and community engagement,” she said.
