With the sting their defeat by Malawi still fresh, Namibia’s national football team, the Brave Warriors, are determined to bounce back stronger against São Tomé and Príncipe at the Obed Itani Chilume Stadium in Francistown, Botswana, at 15h00 today.

Friday’s 2-1 loss to Malawi was a setback for Namibia’s Fifa World Cup qualifiers, but the team remains confident they can turn things around. Defender Riaan Hanamub emphasized the players have quickly shifted focus to the upcoming crucial match.

“We have moved on from the Malawi match, and we know what we need to do better and work on. The entire team understands the task at hand against São Tomé, and we will go all out to keep our chances of making it out of the group stage high,” Hanamub said.

The Brave Warriors have intensified their training sessions to improve their execution and tactical awareness.

Assistant coach Willem Mwedihanga explained that the focus has been on enhancing movement and passing combinations in the middle third of the field.

“We worked on quick passing rounds to build confidence on the ball, followed by transition games to encourage rotation into different spaces and create better passing options,” Mwedihanga added.

Currently, Namibia sits in second place in Group H, behind Tunisia. With three valuable points at stake, today’s encounter presents an opportunity for the Brave Warriors to reaffirm their competitiveness in the group and keep their qualification hopes alive.
