Warriors target maximum points against Lesotho… Benjamin aware of threat posed by opponents

GQEBERHA – The Brave Warriors will be gunning for maximum points
when they take on Lesotho in their second Group C match at the Cosafa Cup tournament today.

The teams are tied on a single point each, following draws in their opening fixtures but Namibia’s
head coach Collin Benjamin is confident his side can collect all three points in today’s clash which kicks-off at15h00 at the 10 000-seater Wolfson Stadium in Gqeberha. Namibia opened their campaign with a goalless draw against
Angola, while Lesotho shared the spoils with Seychelles in a 1-1
draw, with Jane Thaba-Ntso finding the net for the Lesotho side, and Lorenzo Hoareau equalising for Seychelles.

Speaking after Saturday’s training session at Westbourne Oval stadium, Benjamin emphasised the importance of clinical finishing.

“We want to win this game against Lesotho,” he said.

“I think our boys showed in Friday’s match they are capable, and we just need to work on a couple of things ahead of the match. That’s why in our training session, we mostly focused on finishing. I think that’s the area we need to address with the players, how to make good decisions in front of goal,” said Benjamin.

In addition, the coach he was aware of the threat posed by Lesotho stating that they will not be complacent when the teams lock horns today.

“It’s not going to be an easy
match against Lesotho. They are a good side tactically, and I know they’ll be heading into the match searching for maximum points as well. We just need to be cautious on the field of play when we face them. All in all, I believe it will be a very interesting match against a good and strong Lesotho side,” added the former Humburg player. –mkambukwe@nepc.com.na
