NAMIB Mills has pledged to sponsor 504 bags of Top Score maize meal for the entire year to the Brave Warriors squad as a token of appreciation for their participation in the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon).

“This pledge is our way of expressing gratitude and admiration for their remarkable accomplishments. The Warriors managed to reach the last 16 stage of the competition which was hosted by Ivory Coast,” said Top Score’s junior brand manager Diego Talaya.

He said they recognise the dedication and hard work put in by the team during the tournament: “We are inspired to contribute to the continued success and well-being of Namibian football. Therefore, it is with immense pleasure that Top Score pledges to provide our premium products to the players who made history at the Afcon games for an entire year.

“The Top Score product, renowned for its quality and nutritional benefits, will be delivered to the NFA offices monthly and the NFA will handle the logistics of the players’ convenient collection of the maize meal from the NFA, ensuring that they have access to the necessary nutrition to support their physical well-being throughout the year.

“We believe in the power of sports to unite communities and inspire positive change. By supporting the players in this manner, we aim to contribute to their ongoing success and well-being both on and off the field. This pledge represents not only a token of appreciation but also the beginning of what we hope will be a long partnership between Top Score and the NFA,” said Talaya.

Botswana based Township Rollers Football Club’s Marcel Papama said any form of sponsorship is appreciated. “We hope the NFA can have a clear plan on how we can get it,” he said.
