Exciting matches took place over the weekend at Patrick Iyambo College and Wanderers netball court as the Khomas Netball League’s Super 10 continued to excite fans.

In the Super 10 league, Afrocat Lions emphatically won 45-25 over Wanderers in the opening game. 

Wanderers came back to avenge their defeat with a victory over Unam by the same scoreline in their second match.

Afrocat Lions continued with their fine form, winning their second match of the day by 39-29 scoreline against Tigers.

Nust brought a halt to Afrocat juggernaut with a 35-12 scoreline. 

In the first division, Black Africa dominated Wanderers via a 31-14 win.

Unam claimed maximum points against Rehoboth through a 36-17 win.

The game of the day was between NUST and Afrocat which saw the students emerge 35-12 victorious. The second division witnessed Afrocat Omaheke triumphed over Tigers 44-23 while Black Africa overwhelmed Tura Magic with 34-22. 

Afrocat Omaheke moved the gears up and thrashed Unam 55-15. 

Chairperson of the Khomas Netball League and owner of Afrocat Lions Dimitri Bittler expressed his satisfaction with the level of competition in the league, acknowledging the significant improvements. 

“Today’s games have brought me great joy. The league displays fierce competition, with all teams giving their utmost to secure victory in every match. This is the standard of play we aspire to see in every league across the country. I am overwhelmed by the dedication exhibited by the teams in taking their games seriously,” he stated.

Bittler also emphasised the need for more sponsorship, urging local companies to invest in netball.

“We require the support of local companies to join us and invest in netball. The league is expanding, generating tremendous interest from players and fans alike. We hope to secure sponsors who can contribute to helping young girls fulfil their dreams,” he added.
