World-renowned South African Afrikaans poet, writer and journalist, Antjie Krog, is to visit Namibia next weekend for several literature engagements.
Krog is inter alia responsible for the story of the film, Country of My Skull, with American actor Samuel Jackson in the lead role.
The Cape Town-based poet has been invited to the capital to give a lecture on Country of My Skull, a heartrending South African story on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, and also on A Change of Tongue, another of her many publications.
Her programme starts next Friday at 11h00 with a lecture in the hall of the Windhoek College of Education in Khomasdal. The same evening, a presentation of Krog’s poems will be made at Kleines Heim, 10 Volan Street in Windhoek West.
An admission fee of N$100 will be charged to cover the expenses at the evening’s event, and tickets can be obtained from the Book Den and Wilde Eend.
Krog will also read and recite her own poems on Saturday morning at the Book Den in the Gutenbergplatz at 11h00.
