WINDHOEK – Windhoek’s popular shopping centre Wernhil Park opened its doors in 1990, the same year that Namibia became independent, offering the newborn country a ‘first of its kind’ shopping experience. Its name is a combination of the first names of Werner and Hildegard List, the late senior shareholders of the Ohlthaver & List (O&L) Group of Companies.
“During the last 25 years, Wernhil Park has undergone three phases and is now 36 380 square metres big with 1 367 parking bays and an average foot count of 1.3 million shoppers per month,” said Marco Wenk, Managing Director of Broll Namibia, a subsidiary of the O&L Group of Companies and managing agent of Wernhil Park.
“With our competition growing day by day, especially in the new shopping mall development section, we fervently believe in strong tenant as well as customer relationships. We also maintain a competitive edge by keeping up with market trends through the conduct of continuous market research. Our core is to understand our existing market and business, and then identify new potential,” said Wenk.
