Windhoek
Windhoek Lager has joined hands with Namibian wildlife conservation organisation N/a’an ku sê in showcasing the country’s unique and internationally appreciated wildlife, and recently announced the imminent release of a new television series for the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC).
Shot entirely on location in Namibia and highlighting individuals making great strides in all areas of conservation, Wild Jobs Namibia will bring local conservation heroes to local television.
The Minister of Environment and Tourism Pohamba Shifeta; the Deputy Director of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, Florence Haifene, and delegates of the Namibia Film Commission and the NBC attended the official launch of Wild Jobs Namibia.
Marketing Manager of NBL, Rosemary Shippiki, emphasized how Namibia’s wildlife and unique landscape is largely adored and appreciated by the global village, specifically tourists to the country.
She adds: “Such has been proven by first time visitors who eventually come back for a second and third, and even more visits to the Land of the Brave. Namibia hosts some of the world’s most unique wild animals that contribute greatly to the list of the country’s national treasures. Its rich cultural heritage and unique traditions, landscape and hospitality speak for themselves on the global front, with consistent high tourist numbers to the country.
“Namibia is also known for its warm and caring approach toward its nature and conservancy treasures. The efforts embarked on by locals to preserve the country’s wildlife are adored and praised by global stakeholders. And what contributes to this reality are the efforts made by locals, some of whom are stand-outs in this area with initiatives that have grown to become global brands in their own right.”
Marlice van Vuuren, one of Namibia’s most well-known conservationists, and her husband Dr Rudie van Vuuren, are no strangers both nationally and beyond borders to the world of wildlife conservation. They are known for their love for and protection of wildlife at large.
N/a’an ku sê’s vision is to have an Africa where humans and wildlife can live and thrive together. Their mission is to conserve the land, cultures and wildlife of Namibia and rescue species threatened by an ever-shrinking habitat. A mission that has contributed immensely in promoting Namibian wildlife locally and internationally.
The Van Vuurens founded the N/a’an ku sê Foundation, and star as the presenters of Wild Jobs Namibia. The couple opened the launch before premiering an episode of the series, giving guests a glimpse into what will soon be showcased on NBC.
Shippiki said: “Pure passion inspired their journey to greatness. NBL shares this same passion for 100 percent pure beer through which Windhoek Lager was founded. We celebrate those who stay true to their passion. Windhoek Lager is a 100 percent pure premium beer, brewed to the purity standard of the Reinheitsgebot for nearly 100 years and contains only malted barley, hops and water. First brewed in Windhoek, Namibia, the Windhoek Lager brand has stayed true to this recipe, never compromising the vision of the pioneering founders, who showed great courage to brew pure beer, only in the finest way, in the middle of our arid Namibia. To this day, our beer is made the same way – and is now enjoyed by lovers of pure beer across Africa and the world.”
Deputy Director of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, Florence Haifene, emphasized the importance of supporting the Namibian film industry and using this medium to further promote vital conservation issues and bring these issues to the attention of local viewers.
Wild Jobs Namibia would not have been possible without sponsorship from Windhoek Lager – making it a reality for the world to see what this beautiful country has to offer.
The Windhoek Lager brand has won international DLG gold medals for consistency and quality for eight consecutive years. Windhoek Lager celebrates people like the N/a’an ku sê team, who stay true to their passion for a world-class Namibia.
Support from Gondwana Collection, NWR, Wilderness Air and Wilderness Safaris have also been valuable in making Wild Jobs Namibia possible.
