Former Namcor logistics and supply manager Cedric Willemse yesterday denied full involvement in the agreement between Namcor and Enercon.
The accused in the oil scandal case distanced himself from the controversial N$53 million deal, stating that he had been limited to serving as an advisor at the
time.
Willemse stated that at the time, former Namcor MD and his co-accused, Immanuel Mulunga, had requested he participates in the deal in an advisory role.
He explained that this was due to his many years of experience and expertise in the oil industry, and that his only role was to advise the team to ensure the agreement proceeded smoothly.
He added that he had no decision-making power in such a role and further distanced himself from the matter stating that at the time he was only employed as a consultant.
He said his task included assisting the team tasked with the procurement of assets [tanks, canopies etc.] comprising of the sales and marketing staff, which included Davis Maposa and Olivia Dunaiski.
He also said he was never involved in the fuel agreement purchase especially that of exclusivity between Namcor and Enercon.
The matter continues in court. -mukubeiuze@gmail.com
