Keetmanshoop – Old time campaigners Try Again were victorious in the annual Young Beauties Chiefs (YBC) Football Tourney at the packed to rafters J Stephanus stadium in Keetmanshoop, last weekend.
Suzel Cloete, Chairperson of the Young Beauties Chiefs Football Cub and main organiser of the tourney said the idea for the event was to raise funds for the Annual fun day where the organisers plan to give food to the elderly.
Cloete added that there were 12 teams participating registered at a fee of N$ 1200,00 per team. Prize monies were; N$10, 000 for the overall winner, N$6, 000 runner-up while the tow losing semifinalists received a consolation prize of N$2000 each. Old time campaigners
Tseiblaagte’s outfit Try Again won the tournament having beaten Brazilie in an exciting final where no quarter was asked or given. Both team were conquerors of Real Fighters and the //Kharas Regional u 20 team respectively in the semifinals.
Cloete described the tourney as a massive success and applauded the supporters and sponsors, notably Henry Jongwe, President of the Young Beauties Chiefs FC who is also the owner of Hektas Fashions in Keetmanshoop.
She paid gratitude to Jongwe for what his unconditional contribution towards youth development especially club football at regional level. “A big thank you to all the participating teams in this annual spectacle” she concluded.
