A 41-year-old woman was allegedly raped in a vehicle by local businessman Daniel Nghoshi (37) on Monday evening at Eenhana.
Nghoshi was arrested on Tuesday, and made his first appearance at the Eenhana Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
His case was postponed to 20 February 2024 for a bail application, and further police investigations.
The Head of the Crime Investigations Unit in the Ohangwena region, Deputy Commissioner Zachariah Amakali said the accused was drinking at a bar with his friend and the victim.
It’s alleged that Nghoshi drove to drop his friend, and then drove to a different location to drop the victim at her house.
Amakali narrated that the accused drove into the bushes at the Eveline location, where he allegedly had sexual intercourse with the victim.
Police urged women to be more vigilant whenever they are drinking with men, because women have become victims of rape after such instances.
