WALVIS BAY – A 39-year-old woman was raped early yesterday morning in Arandis, police in the Erongo Region said.
According to the police, the woman who was allegedly intoxicated was found in one of the settlements at the town by club goers who were on their way home. The club goers assisted the lady and alerted the police about the alleged rape. Although the woman was sexually assaulted, she could not recall any details of the assault according to the police. The suspect, who is known and was recognised by the club goers, apparently fled from the scene and has not been arrested yet. In another incident a female employee of a service station in Omaruru was assaulted during an armed robbery yesterday morning.
The lady who is employed in the kiosk was apparently robbed at gun point by three men who got away with N$500. The suspects also held a petrol attendant at gunpoint, but did not find any money on him before they fled. They are still at large.
