Windhoek
Work ethics and the correct attitude towards work yesterday surfaced at interactions between the Minister of Health, Dr Bernhard Haufiku and staff of the Katutura and Windhoek Central hospitals.
Haufiku urged staff to always attend to problems in the health ministry, as they are identified instead of prolonging. Speaking in an interview with New Era after the meeting, the minister said that a right attitude and ethical way of working is crucial for the health ministry.
“We should not allow corrupt ways to erode our souls,” said Haufiku. Maintaining the integrity of health care professionals is very important, stressed Haufiku.
“…Always try to pull in the same direction,” was the message Haufiku shared with his staff. The shortage of staff, overcrowding at hospitals and dilapidated structures are some of the problems health care professionals in the Khomas Region have to deal with, noted Haufiku.
He revealed that a district hospital as well as a clinic are being built in Katutura to ease the problem in the Khomas Region.
