WINDHOEK-Celebrating African fashion creativity, Namibian top designer, London based Eva Miarka is hosting the African’s Finest Fashion Renaissance (AFFR) Season 2, featuring international fashion designers and models in the Capital.
Eva says, more than 18 designers both national and international will be showcasing their newest designs and other fashion accessories at Hilton Hotel on Saturday, August 8. Thirteen international models will also join 43 Namibian models on the catwalk to vie for the best models awards. The AFFR came as a fundraising fashion show to support young and upcoming African designers and models. “This event is meant to support and help young talents who want to follow their dreams. Hence AFFR believes that fashion is for everyone and it is also a lifetime career because clothes are important to everyone. The industry is huge and always looking for new talents,” she says.
Theh show is also aimed at branding new or emerging designers, as well as establishing designers who want to use the show either to launch their designs, themselves or brand their new collections. To top it all, world class luxury high fashion material, Swakara, will close the show with the garments from Denmark designed by different European designers. Some of the Namibian designers to exhibit their collections are Eva, Immanuel Garoeb, Sharon Stone, Loide Uutoni, Nelago Kamanya, Melissa Poulton, Taimi Sakeus, Agnes Izaaks, Sean Cloete, Maila Monroeg and Ingo Shanyenge.
Marvin Sanzila will be the main performer on the night while Christian Goltz and Janusz Miarka from the United Kingdom (UK) will be the photographers. Tickets are N$ 150 in advance and N$ 250 at the gate and N$ 300 for VIPS tickets. Doors open at seven O’clock (19h00).
