Yo Maps back on Namibia’s stage

Yo Maps back on Namibia’s stage

Zambian music artist Elton Mulenga, popularly known as Yo Maps, has made a triumphant return to Namibia, much to the delight of his fans.

Despite a recent arrest for performing without a work permit at The Loft, the talented artist is back on stage, ready to entertain Namibian audiences.

Yo Maps is set to perform tonight at SteakHouse in Walvis Bay.

Tomorrow, he will take the stage at The Temperature in Windhoek.

This comeback promises to be a memorable experience for fans, who have been eagerly waiting.

“It feels good to be back in Namibia. This is my second home. When I came, our promoter didn’t get a permit for us, which led to my arrest,” he said.

“But I’m back now, and fans should expect more from me. I’ll perform all my songs, including the new song I dropped with Omarion,” he stated.

Yo Maps has been working with local artists such as DJ Vuyo, Gazza and DJ Siya.

They are set to release a song together. He also shot a music video with local models.

“I’m very grateful for the Namibian people. Even when I was arrested, the immigration officials were very professional. There was no drama, and they treated us very well – just like they would have treated us back home,” he expressed.

Yo Maps started his music career in 2008 in Zambia, and rose to prominence in 2018.

“Back then, there weren’t as many platforms as we have now, which made it difficult for us to promote our music. You had to pay a DJ to play your music,” he said.
