WINDHOEK – Namibia’S Young Gladiators are to play a friendly match against their Angolan counterparts as part of that country’s 38th independence anniversary celebrations at the Footbal Academy Stadium in the Angolan capital Luanda, tomorrow. Gladiators Head Coach Jacqui Shipanga, thanked the Angolans for the invitation and said her charges look forward to the challenge.
“They are our good neighbours and always keep us in mind whenever the chance arise to involve us in their programmes. The Brave Warriors and the Under-20 side have been there and now the Young Gladiators. I’m glad we are getting to play more international games, which is good for the team indeed,” Shipanga said. The Young Gladiators last weekend bowed out of the 2014 Fifa Women Under-20 World Cup qualifiers losing the 2nd leg against Zambia 2-0 for an aggregate defeat of 3-0 after the Zambians won the first leg 1-0 in Windhoek a fortnight ago.
