The Electoral Commission of Namibia has registered a cumulative 366 036 eligible Namibians since the commencement of the general registration of voters (GRV).

The registration started on 3 June, and is set to end on 1 August 2024.

In a media statement issued on Wednesday, the ECN said the figure represents those registered as voters inside the country and at all Namibian diplomatic missions abroad as of 15 June 2024.

The figure represents an average of 29 918 voters registered per day between 10 and 15 June 2024.

The Khomas region recorded the highest number of registered voters at 77 098, followed by Ohangwena with 40 122, and Omusati with 35804. The regions which have registered the lowest number of voters are Omaheke with 10 242, Zambezi with 11 381 and Kunene with 12 262.

While urging all eligible Namibian citizens who have not yet registered to do so, the ECN said the GRV continues across the country and at all Namibian diplomatic missions around the world until 1 August 2024 between Monday and Saturday from 08h00 until 19h00.

Namibians will go to the polls on 27 November to cast their votes in the 2024 Presidential and National Assembly elections.
