A 10-year-old girl was allegedly repeatedly defiled over a period of two months by a 20-year-old man in Lüderitz. The crimes took place between July and August this year in Area Seven of the town.
The head of the Namibian Police Public Relations Division, Deputy Commissioner Edwin Kanguatjivi, told the media on Sunday that the suspect was yet to be arrested and investigations continued. In a different incident, a female victim of an unknown age was allegedly raped by a 25-year-old man in Aroab village in //Karas Region. The incident took place during the early hours of Thursday morning in a room at a house in the village. It is alleged the suspect threatened the victim with a knife and forced her to the ground before raping her. The suspect was arrested and police investigations continue. Meanwhile, the police in Windhoek are investigating a case of culpable homicide after Indjambi Rudawihng, 21, died in a vehicle accident last week on Thursday in Mahatma Ghandi Street in Khomasdal.
Five other occupants of the vehicle were admitted to the Katutura State Hospital with serious injuries.
The police in Bethanie in the //Karas Region are also probing a case of reckless and/or negligent driving after the driver of a Toyota sedan lost control of the vehicle and it overturned on the gravel road to Aus on Thursday, about 20 kilometres from Helmeringhausen. In the Omaheke Region, the police are investigating a homicide after Johannes Ndjamba Ndala, 27, was stabbed to death on Saturday after a funeral. It is alleged that an argument broke out between the victim and his 31-year-old friend.
This friend allegedly stabbed the victim on the left side of the neck with a knife, said Kanguatjivi. The suspect was due to appear in the Gobabis Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
