Opinion – Different professions  but the effect is the same

Teaching is the only profession that spent a lot of time with learners. The teacher and learner intimate relationship is teacher misconduct, according to the education policy. I am not against that but the problem with that policy is that it only applies to the teaching profession, not other professions, which is not fair as the effect of having a relationship with a female learner is the same.

Standard Bank increases profit

Standard Bank Namibia has shaken off the adverse impact of Covid-19 in its half-year results after the bank recorded an increase in profit after tax of 24.1% for period on period to N$235.3 million. This is according to the bank’s interim results announcement for the first six months ended 30 June 2022, released this week.

Regional oil refinery on the cards …will not necessarily result in cheaper local fuel prices

Regional oil refineries are being investigated to make Africa more independent in terms of oil supply. This was confirmed on Monday by mines and energy minister, Tom Alweendo, who recently returned from West Africa’s leading energy forum in Dakar, Senegal, that took place from 1 to 2 September with the aim to determine the future for the continent’s energy.
