… sees neighbourhood rivalry reach new level

WINDHOEK – The once rosy relationship between undisputed Namibian champions Black Africa and neighbours Tigers FC has entered murky waters.

This follows BA’s statement that they will teach the current log leaders a football lesson never to be forgotten when the two Katutura giants lock horns in a top of the table MTC Premiership clash at the Sam Nujoma Stadium tonight.

With only 3 points separating the teams, BA will be out to get a good result to move level on points, while the early pacesetters are also keen to extend their unbeaten run after seven rounds of matches in the current term.

Bobby Samaria’s charges dropped their first points of the season in a goalless draw against FNB Orlando Pirates in their last league outing. In recent encounters, Tigers have enjoyed the upper hand over their much-fancied opponents but tonight’s result could go a long way in deciding the ultimate destination of the coveted league title.

In other action, LHU Blue Waters greet fellow strugglers Rundu Chiefs at the Kuisebmond Stadium in Walvis Bay tomorrow, while PC Blue Boys entertain Ramblers at the Vineta Stadium in Swakopmund at 19h00.

Round 7 concludes with a mouthwatering double header at the Sam Nujoma Stadium that pits Pirates against unpredictable league rookies United Stars in the curtain raiser.

African Stars host Eleven Arrows in the main match at 19h00. Gates open at 17h00 and no drinks will be allowed, while match tickets at the venue will only be available at booth 27, next to the VIP booth.
