WINDHOEK– Dr. Ndeutala Angolo-Amutenya, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Safety and Security in Namibia, has a choir named after her.
The choir conductor within the M’uambo Musical Works, Peter Ambambi, and well known Omuwambo gwa-Ambambi confirms this, saying it was so important for their choirs to honour some of the Namibian legends. Most of the members in Dr Ndeutala Choir are members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Namibia (ELCIN) at Ontananga Parish and is led by Martha Nale Amwaama and Tommy Tonata Shikongo. Olukonda Constituency in Oshikoto region councillor, Darius Mbolondondo Shikongo, is also one of the bass singers in the choir.
This choir recently released a ten-track CD titled Uuyuni mbu sho ndewu tale. “All the songs on this CD was written by the members of this choir except one song from Psalm: 93:1-5 and all the songs melodies by the choir conductor,” says Omuwambo gwa-Ambambi. He says M’uambo Musical Works has up to 54 choirs within Namibia and some members are still applying to become members of M’uambo Musical Works.
