WINDHOEK – Secretary-General of the Namibia Paralympic Committee (NPC) Penandino Kandjii is oozing confidence that Namibian Paralypians will finish the year on a high, when swimmers Gideon Nasilowski and Carlien Coleman compete in the Central Gauteng Aquatics (CGA) Open Water Championship slated for December 5-8.
Kandjii said the year 2013 has been a remarkable year for local Paralympians, following multiple achievements in various disciplines that include Johannes Nambala’s gold medal in the men’s T13 400m final and Johanna Benson’s two bronze medals in the women’s T37100 and 200m finals, during this year’s International Paralypics Committee (IPC) World Championships in Lyon, France. “We are very confident they will bring home some good results. They are both hardworking athletes, especially Nasilowski, who has so much experience since he competes frequently in this championship and always gives a good account of himself,’’ said a confident Kandjii.
Nasilowski joined Kandjii in endorsing the NPC’s objective of concluding the year on a high, and said training is going very well and he is in great shape to pull one or two surprises at the CGA Championship come December. “I have been working hard for the past few weeks and I’m confident I can deliver some great performances at the championships. The event is always very competitive, but we are ready to fly the Namibian flag high,’’ said Nasilowski speaking to New Era Sports earlier this week.
