WINDHOEK – Gymkhana Club Windhoek (GCW) is to host its annual Dressage and Show Jumping Club Championships at its premises in Hegel Street, Academia (next to the Windhoek Country Club), this coming weekend. The event gets underway this coming Friday with the first event set for 14h45 to be followed later by all the classes mainly for children and young horses. Saturday morning sees the start of the dressage warm-up events at 07h00 with the prize giving ceremony slated for 10h30.
These events include the preliminary, novice, elementary, elementary medium, medium and advanced dressage classes, while the show jumping warm-ups commence at 11h00 and continue until 18h30. These include the 60cm, 70cm, 80cm, 90cm, 1.00m and 1.10m classes.
Sunday will see the start of the Club Championships events, starting at 08h00 with the dressage classes and thereafter the 90cm jumping championship over two rounds. The final prizegiving will be held at about 12h30 where the GCW champions for both dressage and jumping will be announced.
