WINDHOEK – The Namibian National Olympic Committee (NNOC) will host an Athlete Career Programme on the 4th of next month at the Polytechnic Hotel School in Windhoek.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will present the course after the NNOC had successfully applied to the world sports governing body to help them with such a workshop.
The programme, supported by the Adecco International Group, aims to assist local athletes to undergo a successful career transition and is supervised by Namibia’s most successful athlete, Frank Fredericks, who will be assisted by Patrick Glennon, Adecco IOC Athlete Career Programme Manager.
Registration is free of charge and all interested Namibian athletes can email their registration form to info@nnoc-namibia.com or fax to 061 237872. Entries close tomorrow.
The workshop presents ways on how to turn athletes’ dreams for a life after sport into a reality as successful citizens as it includes topics such as developing a successful game plan after an athlete’s sporting career, networking, as well as structuring a modern-day CV while learning the correct skills necessary for a job interview. The programme starts at 09h00.
