WINDHOEK – Hendrick Haininga and Petrus Enkali Iimbili, two members of the City Police, were last week Wednesday each sentenced to a fine of N$3 500, or 12 months in prison, by Magistrate Justine Asino for beating up a Windhoek resident.

The two men faced a charge of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, in the Windhoek Magistrate’s Court.

The charge sheet indicated that on May 14, 2011 in Windhoek, the two men “wrongfully, unlawfully and intentionally assaulted Ronnie Simataa Sibungo by punching him in his face, jaw and lips with intent to cause grievous bodily harm”.
