WINDHOEK– A Music talent from Namibia, Bongani Cloete represented Africa in the famous Yehudi Menuhin Orchestra which took place in Switzerland this year.

The conductor of this Orchestra gave the highest award to Bongani Cloete with the following words: “It was one of the great pleasures in my life, when I met Bongani Cloete this summer in Gstaad, conducting the play at the Menuhin Festival Youth Orchestra Gstaad (Switzerland). I learned to know Bongani as a talented, gifted young musician, who plays the cello in a wonderful, personal and highly music way.

Bongani brought to us a high musical intelligence, a very good technical level and also a warm hearted, curious and open minded personality. Very quickly he blended sound wise with the cello section and turned out as a real orchestra musician, meaning that he understood deeply and very fast the roles of leading or following in the group depending on the situation in the music.”
