WINDHOEK– The Ombetja Yehinga Organisation (OYO) in collaboration with Sister Namibia will be hosting a dancing event on collecting of word and baby dumping on Monday.
Since 2008, when the OYO lunched their first project on dance as a way of giving messages to the nation, and to make it aware of what is happening around it, the organisation has been having several dance events in different towns. According to Philippe Talavera founder and director of OYO, the dance will be at the theatre school and will be on collecting words and baby dumping. “We do different dance, even modern but our dance are unique because we dance to give messages. We give different message in different dance, message on HIV/AIDS, gender-based violence, teenage pregnancy, stigmas discrimination, baby dumping and other life issue,” he enthuses.
Talavera says they are planning a big dancing event visiting 42 schools in Oshana, Oshikoto, Ohangwena, Omusati, Kavango and Zambezi regions. The dance will be starting next Friday till the October 4. “In this project we are collaborating with the German embassy, and the dance will be on creating awareness on HIV/AIDS, stigma discrimination and rape,” concludes Talavera.
