WINDHOEK– Everyone knows what and who a diva is. Well for those who don’t, a diva is a female persona extraordinaire, well aware of her talent and status and who generally makes sure that everyone around her is mindful of and recognises such status.
However when three divas unite in music, it is bound to become an event that people talk about, and that will reverberate long after the last note is played.
This is exactly what three Namibian divas, Lilani Kisting, also known as Adora, Esmeralda Katjikuru aka Essy and Johné Titus have in store for revellers at the Warehouse theatre next Saturday. Adora, the voice from the south, “this diva is quirky, pitch perfect and always in the driver’s seat”; Essy, black bold and beautiful, “this diva knows how to put her body and soul behind her voice” and Johné, “the voice and sound that ballads are made of, the Diva with the satin resonance” unite in celebration of the Divas of this world.
Expect timeless hits, made famous by songstresses from all corners of the world from Jennifer Hudson, Christina Aguilera, Alicia Keys, Roberta Flack, Cher, Whitney Houston, Beyoncé to Gloria Estafan, and add a touch of ‘Afro-Jazz’ by the likes of Judith Sephuma, Letta Mbulu, Zahara and Lira, and you have the ‘stuff’ that ladies’ nights are made of. The event will start at 20h00 and tickets are available at the Warehouse Theatre for N$60 in advance and N$80 at the door.
