WINDHOEK – Construction work has started on the new Agra branch in Windhoek’s Lafrenz industrial area. In order to accommodate the constant and substantial growth in market share, Agra has acquired four erven totalling 25 539 square metres for the new development. Once the building is complete, the overall development represents an investment of more than N$100 million. The Agra branch in the Auas Valley Shopping Mall Complex will remain.
Initially 5 400 square metres comprising the retail shop, warehousing, office and administration will be constructed under one roof, while parking facilities, loading ramps and an extensive yard for products like fencing materials and water tanks will be provided.
Agra will be the sole tenant of the development upon completion in early 2015, with a possibility of other tenants to take up additional space in future. The branch will further serve the community with a host of convenient services and facilities to make the Agra retail experience even more tailored to its core agriculture related clientele and the general public. Sufficient space is reserved for future expansion of the Agra operations that will be constructed when needed.
The new development situated in the Lafrenz industrial area will have direct access from the B1 national road, provide wider carriageways for larger vehicles, ample parking area and loading platforms for added convenience in loading and offloading of bulk stock and large equipment supplies, according to Henning Tiemann, the senior manager for properties at Agra.
