ONGWEDIVA – Two men and an elderly woman committed suicide in the Omusati Region over the past few days.

The body of Ndeshipanda Josua Michael from Onguludhiya village in Tsandi constituency was found hanging in his bedroom on Friday.  It is alleged the 25-year-old hanged himself with a rope and his body was discovered at 06h00 on Friday.

Similarly, Titus Tobias’ body (21) was found hanging in his bedroom on Sunday, after he allegedly hanged himself with a wire.  The deceased’s body was discovered that morning at about 07h00.

Ndapewa Ashilungu (42) from Olusati village in the Onesi constituency hanged herself with a wire near her homestead yesterday.  It is alleged Ashilungu left the homestead at 12h00 on Monday after a quarrel with her family members; her body was later discovered yesterday at about 07h00 by community members who followed her footsteps which led to the marula tree where her body was found hanging.

Sergeant Hamalwa Hesekiel from the Omusati Regional Police public relations division confirmed the incidents.
